Patch v1.04 on Steam

I tried installing the v1.04 patch from the official Avencast site to fix my crashes and performance issues but it doesn't seem to work because I've got the game installed with steam.

I contacted steam and asked them to add the patch as a steam game update. This is their reply:

I don't know if you have already contacted steam but I would appritiate it if you could arrange a patch on steam.

Thanks for telling us about that! What version did you get on Steam? Actually I thought they should have the latest v1.04.

Please let me know and I will take care of that.

There is no "Avencast patch history" and I am suffering problems said to be fixed in the very first patch so I don't think that any patches have been added to the game through steam

I am not sure if there is a way to check what version I have within the game's files but some other people have had problems they have posted on the game's steam forum (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=861) if that's any indication.

if you post your logfile.txt I should be able to tell if they have the latest version. The file can be found in the installation directory (where the file Avencast.exe is)

Ok, I looked at the logfile again and spotted this:

So seems that I actually do have v1.04 and the steam person I spoke to didn't seem to know that either. Sorry for this :oops:

The game just seems to run very slowly and occasionally crashes. I get ALT+Tab issues that often crash the game aswell.
It may be because I have my res set high but I will live <3 I just save before I ALT + TAB so nothing is lost.

Hi, sorry to barge in, but I also am having problems with the Steam version, which I bought a few weeks ago.

currently getting script errors -- these pop up in a Windows 7 dialog box in the background, and when I close it, an in-game dialog box pops up with lots more script errors.

Thanks for your bugreport. I looks like your installation is somehow corrupt as a few essential script files don't seem to be available. Please try to reinstall the game. Also try to turn off your anti-virus during the installation - maybe it interferes in a strange way.
