For those who've completed the game and want to have fun and for those who want to see various character builds without having to go through multiple times... And this'll probably let people get past show-stopper bugs too.
Surprisingly game resisted attempts at cornering that advancement points through memory editing, turned out that's entirely not necessary.

You need to edit game.cfg which is located in cfg subfolder in installation folder.

If you set Debug=1 instead of Debug=0 you can use F7 key to get instant level-ups, naturally resulting in advancement points

You also get some other debug keys
F10-F12 toggles rendering of various things
F8 - toggles wireframe mode
0 - toggles drawing of red lines around gui elements
9 - togles drawing of gui(including mouse cursor)

If you set AllCombos to 1, you can use all skills without learning them/regardless of level requirement(you still need mana, and you don't really need to use them as combos, mapping them to hotkeys works too).

AllowXMove=1 - allows you to move your character around while X is held down. It's like you push your character with cursor, he doesn't move on his own. Seems like movement speed depends on how far cursor was when you held X down. Funny part is you can move through walls too.

QuickPause=1 - allows you to pause game with Q key instead of P. This kind of pause is different from normal one on P key in that you retain certain degree of control... Like of you press one of F- keys with skill bound - that actions gets qued and is executed when you unpause.

LoadVideoAudioStreamed=1 - if your movies play without sound like in my case after installing 1.02 patch, this solves that problem.

You can also tweak a bunch of performance-related options, many more of them than normally tweakable ingame and through configurator.

Now the most important part, whole reason of this post. Add line
AllowConsole=1
This line is not present normally so you'll have to add it entirely
After that you can bring down console ingame by pressing semicolon(";") key.

You can in fact use commands from seemingly flexible script engine, but unfortunately developers treat potential modding community with hostility, so all stuff in scripts folder is encrypted or compressed or both. Just like all stuff in cfg folder except game.cfg.
Nevertheless here're some things i've been able to figure out

Everything is case sensitive
You can use PgUp/PgDown keys to scroll back/forth in commands history

cheat("health") - full health, also revives if dead
cheat("mana") - full mana
cheat ("strength",amount) - adds points to blood magic
cheat ("spell",amount) - adds points to soul magic
cheat("experience",amount) - gives specified amount of experience
cheat("advance",amount) - gives specified amount of advancement points
AddGold(mc_ID,amount) - gives specified amount of guilders
SetMoveSpd(mc_ID,amount) - lets you tweak your movement speed
SetImmortal(mc_ID,1) - god-mode on
SetImmortal(mc_ID,0) - god-mode off
LoadLevel(unescaped path to level config file here, consider installfolder as root) - loads specified level
Example:
LoadLevel("levels\\crystal_cave\\crystal_cave.cfg")
UncoverMap() - fully reveals minimap
CoverMap() - covers minimap with fog of war
ExportHero("name") - exports character into filename "name" that gets placed in root of installfolder
ImportHero("name") - does the opposite
Btw exported character format is not encrypted, not plaintext either though.

As for inventory items, roughly it's done like
AddToInventory(mc_ID,"staff_harassys",1)
(Last param, 1 in example, is actually amount)
But i guess only standard/unique/quest items can be added that way, and without decrypting that scripts it's quite bothersome to get internal ids of items in question.

I programmed the advance points a little harder to crack - nice to see it worked to some degree ;-)

We planned to release those cheats anyway (there are more useful commands) I'll post someting in the near future about that.

Be aware though that characters will turn into "cheat characters" when using those tools.

Could you post exactly how to export and import a character named Merlin plz. I tried: ExportHero(Merlin) and it just gave errors. Do I type it just like that or with spaces? What am I missing? Then how do you import a charater? Thanks. I made sure I kept it case sensitive. I enabled the cheats and others work fine. I must be typing it wrong.

It is a C++ syntax:

ExportHero("myname");

I have changed the settings you said (Debug=1 etc) and yet it doesn't work :? .... Maybe it doesn't work beacause I opened it with Wordpad and needs a specific program for opening .cfg files?

So im playing again, and i wanted to have a little extra 'fun' this time, i wondered if anyone has found or has compiled a list of the items that can be spawned using the AddToInventory(mc_ID,"",1) command. I remember using artmoney to search for the names in game, and came up with a few, but i cant find the results, and cant be arsed to do that again. Any help would be awsome.
