Agreed, the reward is not worth mentioning, and it's a totally insignificant side quest. Unless you're after the Fame points at the end of the game, they will be a bit higher if you solve it... other than that, not much use for the quest...

roll towards the pots by double tapping a direction arrow, that will be quick enough to reach any pot in time.

Hit the pots with an ice spell as soon as the lid starts jumping and orange flame shoots out, keep hitting it with ice until the lid is sitting firmly (steam will come out by the lid will be sitting firmly)

When you see a new pot start steaming immediately approach it, it will always go orange soon after.

When you just finished blowing out an orange flame, save (use two saves for that quest). if it explodes, quickly reload instead of fighting those annoying fire dwrafs.

On the other hand, the fire dwarfs are pretty good experience if you are low level. They are one of the few monsters you can respawn over and over to build your character up (if you have the patience for it).
